And while they’re not outright Halloween, Seance Perfume does lean into that space. Much of their work is inspired by Victorian mourning practices and ideas. It feels old world in a the best way possible.
Seance was a pandemic find for me. I’m incredibly picky about scents, but to say I absolutely fell IN. LOVE. with two of theirs would be an understatement. I’ve been a repeat customer ever since, and they’re one of my favorite hidden gems.

My other favorite scent I just adore. I love that this was the very first one created for the brand. It absolutely captures that old-book smell I love so much, but in a way that’s delightful to wear every day. GET IT HERE

Seance might not be the first to dream up a cemetery-scented candle, but with these notes (grass, earth, vanilla) I think they might be my last. GET IT HERE
House Sprays

ForbiDDen Love MOurning Heart
You have to dig a little to find them, but Seance has a number of small trinkets in line with their nods to Victorian mourning culture, like this heart. It comes on a piece of elastic lace. Mourning hearts were often given in remembrance of a loved one who had passed or exchanged secretly between lovers. GET IT HERE
