Halloween and Chill: Music for the Softer Side of October 31st

?>

You might say that I'm the ghoul with a song for everything.

I love using music to set a mood. I’m known to have Katy Perry dance parties in the morning as I get ready for work to energize myself for the day. Lately, Sunday mornings are for curling up on the loveseat in the Halloween office while reading a book, listening to coffeehouse music and sipping my favorite black magic.

And I am almost always listening to Halloween tunes when I’m working on blog projects.

A few weeks ago, I came home from work feeling like trash. After eating dinner I climbed into bed with my book, queued up this Reading Chill Out playlist and settled in for a little R&R. About 30 minutes later, a thought occurred to me.

I need a Halloween and chill playlist.

Now, let me be clear: I fully understand what that phrase actually means. And hey, if you want to use this playlist for that…go for it. 🎃

But I’m taking that phrase at its literal meaning: Halloween tunes you can turn on when you need a chill moment.

This particular playlist is loaded up with the quieter Halloween songs I love, including a few killer covers of Halloween classics. It’s definitely a mood setter perfect for a stormy fall night or maybe even a walk through the graveyard under the October full moon.

Halloween and Chill: A Playlist

If Spotify is not your preferred method for streaming music, here is the complete playlist so you can create it yourself:

    Hey Miranda,

I love listening to The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack (I’m a sucker for Danny Elfman), Nancy Nightmare and The Wizard (Especially 31 days of Halloween when I need a gentle eeriness), and Voltaire is one of my guilty pleasures since he has a song for EVERY mood. Whether you need a song for getting pumped up for work, relaxing by baking or doing laundry, or just feeling generally spooky, I would say When You’re Evil or The Night are my usual go-to’s.

For a bit of added fun, Rock Lobster by the B-52’s reminds me VERY much of that Halloween Beach Party playlist you put out on the blog a while back.

Thanks for the awesome new playlist!

    Hello Miranda!
My favorite spooky music is from The Queen of the Damned soundtrack! I love that movie and music! I never get tired of it! I can listen to it all the time!!
