11 Halloween Margaritas

?>

Margaritas: they aren't just for summer anymore! As a Texan, I am treated to my pick of these tart and tasty cocktails year-round, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This post was originally published in May 2017 and last updated in October 2021. All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!

And they are definitely a crowd-pleaser, especially at Halloweenie Roast. The two years I’ve served margaritas as my big batch cocktail – like my Beetlejuice Margarita – we’ve gone through them within the first two hours of the party!

So how do you make a margarita even better? Halloween-ify it, of course! Whether you’re planning your own Halloween party or just looking for a spooky cocktail to enjoy at the beach, these recipes will do the trick.

11 Halloween Margaritas:

Black Magic Margarita

Nothing is spookier than a jet-black cocktail, and I’m betting your Halloween party guests have never seen a black margarita. GET THE RECIPE

Smoky Harvest Apple Cider Margarita

Spice up your margarita and make it fall-friendly by using mezcal instead of tequila (more of a smoky flavor) and using cider instead of lime juice! GET THE RECIPE

Monster Mash Margarita

I might love these margaritas more for how they’re styled than anything else, but a recipe with blood orange is always a good one in my book! GET THE RECIPE

Pumpkin Spice Margarita

Yes, fall’s favorite flavor has even found its way into margarita recipes. I’m not a big pumpkin spice fan, but I might actually be brave enough to try this recipe. GET THE RECIPE

Hallow-rita

What Halloween-lovin’ adult doesn’t wish they could go back to the days of trick-or-treating? This Hallow-rita might be the next best thing. GET THE RECIPE

Morgue-a-rita

Want to know a secret? Sometimes presentation is the way to make a cocktail spooky, like serving these morgue-a-ritas on a silver tray with coroner’s tools! GET THE RECIPE

Candy Corn Apple Pucker Margarita

This margarita recipe is about as unconventional as they come. It doesn’t have a single ingredient found in a classic margarita (gin, pinot grigio), so I don’t even know you can call it a margarita…but it might be fun to try! GET THE RECIPE

Spiced Cider Margarita

Here’s another recipe using tequila’s smoky cousin, mezcal, for a gorgeous fall-inspired margarita. I think cider margs are definitely on my to-try list now. GET THE RECIPE

Kiwano (Toxic Sludge) Margarita

This one may not have a spooky name, but it’s made using a spooky-looking fruit! Definitely a drink for the adventurous margarita drinker. GET THE RECIPE

Zomborita

This margarita recipe combines the flavors of apple and lemon with elderflower liqueur. Drink too many, and you just might turn into its namesake. GET THE RECIPE

Practical Magic Midnight Margarita

And finally, no Halloween margarita list would be complete without this nod to the classic witch film, “Practical Magic”! Perfect for drinking at midnight…or on a beach somewhere. (In your black suit under your black umbrella, of course.) GET THE RECIPE

Which margarita goes on your must-try list?

Happy sipping,

I love margaritas! They’re not always my go-to cocktail, but they are a great quick-to-mix drink that works all year round! Those cider margaritas sound so divine! No chance you’ll be sharing some Halloween mocktail recipes this year, is there?

I actually have a non-alcoholic drink coming up on the blog soon that will get you in the Halloween spirit! :) I think, for the most part, you could always drop the liquor from the recipes I share too. I’ll keep that in mind moving forward!

Ohhh! Excited to hear it! I’m definitely a put some liquor in it kind of girl, but my mom always raised me to be mindful of a variety of tastes for guests and I’ve learned at my parties to have a mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink. You always find the best recipes so I was curious! Can’t wait to see the drink!
