I've been doing a bit of digital spring cleaning around the blog lately and discovered...I have a playlist of Halloween covers I started in 2019 I never shared.
Lucky you, that changes today! There are a lot of classic Halloween songs (like these or these) out there, but if you’re tired of listening to them like I was…this is the perfect playlist for familiar favorites with a twist.
Let’s get to listening!
The Halloween Covers Playlist
If Spotify is not your preferred method for streaming music, here is the complete playlist so you can create it yourself:

Halloween Covers – Original Artists
Curious who the original artists of these covers are? I’ve got the list below (because this is something I would totally Google if I ran across this playlist):
- Ain’t No Grave – Bozie Sturdivant (but you likely know the Johnny Cash version)
- Anything Can Happen on Halloween – Tim Curry
- Bad Moon Rising – Creedence Clearwater Revival
- Boris the Spider – The Who
- Dead Man’s Party – Oingo Boingo
- Don’t Fear the Reaper – Blue Oyster Cult
- Every Day is Halloween – Ministry
- Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr.
- Harvest Moon – Neil Young
- The Hearse Song – Unknown (but you likely know the Harley Poe version)
- House of the Rising Sun – The Animals
- I Put a Spell on You – Screamin’ Jay Hawkins
- The Killing Moon – Echo & The Bunnymen
- Monster Mash – Bobby “Boris” Pickett
- My Body’s a Zombie for You – Dead Man’s Bones
- Pet Sematary – The Ramones
- Red Right Hand – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
- Season of the Witch – Donovan
- Spooky – Classic IV
- Superstition – Stevie Wonder
- This is Halloween – Danny Elfman
- Thriller – Michael Jackson
- Time Warp – Rocky Horror Picture Show Cast
- Werewolves of London – Warren Zevon
- Witchcraft – Frank Sinatra
And yes, I put together a secondary playlist with all these in case you want to give them a listen too. The only one not featured is “Anything Can Happen on Halloween”, which you can check out here.

Here are a few of my personal favorites from over the years:
- Spooky Little Summer – so many amazing 60s gems you’ll love!
- Graveyard Party – my annual Halloween mix from 2016
- Vintage Halloween Songs – a favorite on Spotify
- Halloween New Wave – probably better titled my fave 80s alternative spooky tunes
- Halloween and Chill – still my fave playlist I’ve ever made for the blog
Happy listening,

Autumn Zenith
This is such a cool idea for a playlist (and post). Thank you very much for sharing. I just pinned the graphic and look forward to adding some of these covers both to my actual Halloween playlist, as well as my everyday song rotation.
