How to Make Frozen Pumpkin Juice

?>

As a Halloween lover, I have a challenging relationship with pumpkin.

love it in baked goods: cookies, cakes, pies, gimmie! I don’t even mind it in savory dishes. But drop it in a drink and you’ll have me running away screaming like Michael Myers is after me.

Except for my pumpkin juice recipe! A few summers ago, I decided to give this drink a try…and ended up loving it. I love it SO much that I also turned it into a mimosa.

When I started thinking about cool treats I could share on the blog, a frozen version of my pumpkin juice popped to mind.

And I’m SO glad I tried it because this just became my new favorite pumpkin treat.

How to Make Frozen Pumpkin Juice

All it takes to make your own frozen pumpkin juice are a few simple ingredients and a little patience.

My favorite part of this recipe? I love that my pumpkin juice has a thicker texture to it, and when you add freezing to the mix…it turns into a creamy consistency more like ice cream than a snowcone.

This frozen pumpkin juice is thick and creamy, just like a milkshake. It's the perfect cold treat for a hot summerween afternoon!

Ingredients

  • 7.5 Tbsp pumpkin (canned)
  • 6 ounces apple juice
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1/4 ounce honey
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (recipe below)

Instructions

  • Measure all ingredients into a blender.
  • Blend for 30 seconds.
  • Pour mixture into ice cube tray.
  • Freeze for at least one hour.
  • Return frozen pumpkin juice cubes to blender and blend! (You might consider adding a splash of apple and pineapple juice if the cubes are frozen longer than an hour.)
  • Pour into glass and enjoy!

Notes

To make your own pumpkin pie spice, measure one tablespoon of cinnamon, one teaspoon of nutmeg and ginger, each, and half a teaspoon of cloves into a small bowl and mix together.

This recipe is like a pumpkin milkshake minus the dairy. It has a thick, creamy consistency without feeling heavy when you drink it. Perfect for summer!

Dropping everything in the blender made it super easy to mix, then blend once I froze the juice for an hour. (Bonus points if you use Halloween-shaped ice cube trays!)
