You know what I haven't created in a while? A really solid Halloween playlist for summer.
So today I’m fixing that! Like most of us, I’m feeling a little bummed about having to cancel summer plans. I’m especially bummed I won’t get to see all my Halloween friends in Long Beach – people like Mike, Matt, Sarah and Chelsea.
Since I can’t travel to see my Halloween friends – or the spooky vacation spots we’ve shared over past summers – I figured why not travel to a few creepy locales via music?
Every song on my Spooky Summer Vacation playlist will take you somewhere a little haunted, from riding the highway to Hell to New Orleans to a haunted beach to Devil Town.
I hope you enjoy listening to this playlist and mentally traveling to all these places with me!

Hard to beat Ghost Town by the Specials, but I’ll recommend a song with a nice bayou travelogue called “Swamp Witch” by Jim Stafford.

Thoroughly awesome list! #18 here is definitely one of the main spooky songs that jump out at me instantly when I think of Summerween perfect tunes. Thank you for putting this list together. I can’t wait to listen to all of these songs, some of which are new to me.

Love your lists and website in general! Also, massive props for having Ghoultown’s “Killer in Texas” featured. Such a great, dark little tune. It actually inspired a short story I wrote years ago! Anyways, thank you for always being a source of wonderfully spooky light and inspiratio

Glad you enjoyed the playlist, Heather.

What a creative playlist! Hotel California by the Eagles has got to be a forever favorite of mine when it comes to songs about spooky vacation spots. I always imagine rolling up on some mysterious hotel in the middle of the desert.
