Happy Halloween, my spooky little friends!
All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!
It’s hard to believe October 31st is already here again. This year’s spooky season has been an interesting one. September was extremely busy, but October has been relatively quiet. I traded in a large party for two micro parties and a Halloween cruise. And as I’m writing this, I kind of feel like Halloween is already over. What’s that nonsense?!
Of course, as you know, around here October 31st lives on all year. I’ll be sharing more about the Halloween cruise I went on soon, plus a few fun fall blog posts and then we’ll get into another year of Spooky Christmas. I can’t wait and hope you’ll stick around for the spooky fun we have all year long!
Until then, here’s your chance to explore a blog post or two you might have missed over the past three months with my second annual “Best of Spooky Little Halloween” post. Below you’ll five the five most-read blog posts as well as my five favorite blog posts I wrote this season.
5 MOST-READ BLOG POSTS FOR HALLOWEEN 2019
Wondering what the most popular blog posts were on Spooky Little Halloween this season? Here are my top five most-read posts.
5. 21 Shows to Watch if You Love “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”
I published this blog back in April just after part 2 of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” came out, but I’m thrilled to see it was so popular during Halloween season too! I’m a huge fan of Sabrina and am always looking for shows with a dark, supernatural twist. In this blog post, I rounded up 21 picks from myself as well as from you guys! READ IT HERE
4. 7 Halloween Party Activities Your Friends Will Actually Love
I love giving my guests something to do at a Halloween party, but it’s hard to come up with activities that don’t feel like childish games, right? Wrong! I put together a list of seven activities I’ve used at my parties – or want to use – and shared them on the blog this year. READ IT HERE

3. Halloween Hunting at Lowes
Each August and September, I post a Halloween hunting blog every Friday. This year we ventured to Lowes for the first time, and I had a blast exploring their Halloween collection. Apparently, you guys did too! If you want to see what you missed (or what you can snag on clearance right now), shop along with us. READ IT HERE
2. 9 More Trendy Halloween Costume Ideas from Pinterest
Pinterest is a fantastic place for a bit of Halloween costume inspiration, and I rounded up some of my favorite pop culture picks for the second year. I especially loved this Georgie/It mashup costume – so, so creative! READ IT HERE
1. 15 Killer Halloween Party Themes
One of my keys to a killer Halloween party is a great theme – once you have that in place, everything else comes together SO easily. I put together a quick list of 15 Halloween party themes I loved, and I’m SO glad to see it was my most trafficked post of the 2019 Halloween season. Plan those Halloween parties, people! (And then send me an invite, okay?) READ IT HERE
MY 5 FAVORITE BLOG POSTS OF HALLOWEEN 2019
Of course, when you’re a Halloween blogger, being asked to choose your favorite post is like picking a favorite pet or child – impossible! So here are 5 of my favorite posts I wrote this Halloween season.
5. Halloween and Chill
I love a good Halloween playlist, and this one has been on repeat for me most of the spooky season. One night I was sitting in bed thinking about how I needed a quiet Halloween playlist…and “Halloween and Chill” was born. I suppose the name works for the other kind of chill as well, but I’ll be using it for quiet rainy nights reading books in bed. LISTEN HERE
4. Fall Harvest Iced Tea
Living in Texas, fall is always a strange experience. Our 90+ degree days stretch well into October, so while everyone else is frolicking in the pumpkin patch I’m usually left sweating it out and wishing for the day my electric bill will drop from running my AC nonstop.
My solution? Adapt recipes for my climate! I did that with my favorite fall tea from Trader Joe’s by turning it into an iced tea that is, quite simply, to die for. HOW TO MAKE IT
3. My Beetlejuice-Inspired Halloween Tree
“Beetlejuice” has been a big part of 2019 for me. Aside from loving the film, I also got the chance to see the Broadway musical so when my friends at Treetopia asked me to decorate another tree with them AND do so with the theme of a haunted house…I picked my favorite haunted house I could think of!
This tree is completely inspired by the Maitland’s home, and I love how it turned out. I’m still debating whether I leave it as-is for Spooky Christmas or dismantle it and come up with something new. SEE IT HERE
2. Halloween-Inspired Makeup Must-Haves for Glamour Ghouls
I love inviting my blogging friends to be a guest ghoul for the day, and the lovely Penny from The Sconnie Sling is no exception. Her Halloween-inspired makeup guest post introduced me to a ton of new companies, and everyone on Instagram went insane over the Hocus Pocus nail polish featured above. READ IT HERE

1. A Love Letter to Halloween Lovers Everywhere
This year has been a bit of a rough ride for me, personally, and I’ve been sharing a bit of that on Instagram throughout the year. Despite the hard moments and rough patches, I’ve also gotten to a place where I finally feel like myself, through and through. SO much of that is thanks to you guys.
I started Spooky Little Halloween on a whim, and you guys turned it into something else – something I didn’t know I needed. I will never be able to thank you enough for that…but I sure tried in this blog post I wrote for my fourth anniversary of running SLH. READ IT HERE
