Each year, there's one spooky space I love decorating more than any other: my bedroom.
All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!
As a Taurus, my bedroom is my sanctuary. It’s where I spend a lot of my time doing things I love like reading, writing in my journal, listening to music and watching all those terrible mindless reality TV shows on Bravo…
(Hey, we all have our guilty pleasures. The Real Housewives are mine…)
Back in 2017, I gave my bedroom a Halloween makeover and that remained until I moved at the end of 2018 to the far, far away location of…the other side of my building.
I knew the office space I’d gained by moving was going to get the Halloween treatment, so I decided to give my bedroom a more subtle feel. Instead of Halloween images on the walls, I opted for some of my cemetery photography and a trio of moons above my bed.
For October, though, I had to bring a little Halloween fun back into the mix. Here is how I’ve transformed my bedroom into my spooky lair once again. (Learn how to do it too!)

I always have that orange October glow going in my bedroom.

My mom gave me these lights, and I never quite found a great way to incorporate them into the Halloween office…so back in the bedroom they go!

Door details and spooky pineapples. My sister-in-law found the pineapple at Home Goods for just $10 earlier this year. I couldn’t resist him for summerween!

We’ll call this the shameless plug chair because every item will take you to a blog post. Take a peek inside my Halloween purse, or learn more about my year-round Halloween book club.
And next week you’ll see those black booties featured in a costume in my closet post!

My teal shelf has seen a lot of looks over the years. This one is, by far, the most simple for Halloween.

After my collab with @hallowmood on Instagram, I’ve taken full ownership of the song, “Spooky”, and couldn’t resist including the lyrics on my letterboard.

This was a Halloween card I found at Kohl’s, of all places, back in August, and I’m pretty sure it’s found a permanent home on the shelf.

But THIS is what you really want to see, right?

The throw pillow and Ouija board blanket stay on the bed all year, but I added some Halloween lights, bats and creepy cloth for October.

I just want to live here. Oh, wait – I do!

Y’all know I love a good Halloween banner, and this one for less than $3 at Walmart is still one of my favorites I’ve ever bought.

Lights + creepy cloth = one of the easiest ways to transform a space!

Obsessed with this throw pillow. I couldn’t resist buying it at At Home this season…

Nighttime vibes.

I feel like the luckiest spooky little girl that I get to sleep under this every night in October!

This is always my favorite part of the home tour. You really nail the spooky-romantic-chill vibe, and it’s so pretty. I love our little family, but this makes me daydream just a teeeeeensy bit about kicking my hubby out to the couch so I can have run of the whole bedroom. ;-)
