The day Halloween fabric arrives at Joann Fabric and Craft Stores is one of my favorite milestones of the season.

I love walking into this craft store, in particular, and drooling over all the gorgeous prints. From simple spiderweb and candy corn patterns to more kitschy prints, like the pin-up zombies, and even occult prints, there is literally something for everyone.
Earlier this week, I wasted spent my lunch break in my local Joann gawking at all the Halloween fabric.
Here is what I found…plus a few tips for how to catch these on sale throughout the Halloween season AND what you can make with Halloween fabric even if you can’t sew.

Halloween Fabric – Cotton

That purple spiderweb print definitely caught my eye right away.

I love that the Halloween Star Wars prints returned – they amuse me to no end, like ghostly R2D2 on the left there.

The return of the pin-up zombie girls caught my eye too – I loved these prints last year. Get it in black or in green.

There were a lot of fabrics with occult vibes, which I love, like the black and white seance fabric. (I bought this one last year…and have yet to do anything with it.)

Here’s one I could NOT stop drooling over. I love this classic tarot card print in muted pastels.

I remember this print from last year and still love it just as much as I did in 2018.

Another new favorite – how much fun are these potion bottles?

Halloween Fabric – Juvenile Apparel

I love how soft the juvenile apparel fabrics are. They’re perfect for a cozy pair of PJ pants, like this!

I especially loved these classic jack-o-lanterns.

As well as these Halloween constellations! There has never been a more Miranda fabric that ever Mirandaed.

I’m ready for year one at Hogwarts with this fabric!

The Witching Hour Fabric Collection
And, of course, there’s a new selection of fabric perfect for costumes!

The skeleton bones on the left was a heavenly satin. I’ll take a formal gown in that, please!

By far my favorite find and the perfect fabric to wrap up with. I’m pretty sure I’m going back to buy a few yards of this so I can make a simple kimono with it.

What to make with your Halloween fabric
Part of the I Want It All But I Can’t Sew club? With my rusty sewing skills I’m an honorary member, so last fall I rounded up 18 DIY ideas (Halloween and otherwise) using fabric that don’t require any sewing! Check them out here.
Happy shopping,

Chelsea
I want ALLL the fabric! I might need to make some fabric wreaths or something, just to have an excuse to buy more fabrics than I need.
I love your idea of turning the sheers into a kimono robe! I might steal that for the occult sheer. I’m so in love with it, but I can’t think of what to use it for.
Those juvenile apparel fabrics are going to be just perfect for pajamas. I bought the monsters in spaceships one to make a pair to wear for Midsummer Scream. The fabric is soooo comfy and the price is right for $5.99 a yard until the 10th! I think I’ll pick up some of the spooky constellations too before the sale ends.

So many cute things, right? Aside from having to sew a sheer which is always a pain, I think making a kimono with them would be super easy.
