When I first moved into the Spooky Little Apartment, I decided my year-round kitchen decor would be coffee. It's definitely my little homage to my favorite TV show, "Gilmore Girls".

That included turning a shelf I bought for kitchen storage space into a coffee bar. Most of the year it’s topped with my drip coffee pot, mug tree and a cute little lamp. But when Halloween season rolls around, it gets a total makeover.
Over the past four Halloween seasons, I’ve perfected my spooky little coffee bar and today I’m sharing a few tips for things you need for a spooktacular Halloween coffee bar in your own home.
How to create a Halloween coffee bar

The Basics
First, you’ll need the basic pieces:
Small shelf
Mine is from Target and while it doesn’t appear they have the same one still, this one and this one are similar
Hanging or floating shelves
Mine is also from Target and no longer available.

Coffeemaker
whether that’s a drip pot like I have, a Keurig or even a French press
Small table lamp
I got a small one (similar), again from Target (can you guess my favorite place to shop?), and I love the warm glow it adds to my whole kitchen
If you have a small counter in your kitchen, that could also be a great space for a coffee bar. There’s no set way to do this, so get as creative as you want. Once you establish your space, it’s all about adding items to customize your bar.

The Halloween Additions
Here are a few of the decorative additions I added to mine:
Halloween coffee signs
My Lucky Raven Cafe sign came from Dollar Tree a few years ago, and my Witch’s Coffee House was a Ross find last year. I also love these three on Etsy: Witches Brew Dark Roast | Witchy Before Coffee | Macbeth-inspired
Halloween coffee mugs
I love this “Hocus Pocus” one from Spirit!

Halloween books
Coffee and reading go hand-in-hand for me, so I decided to add three of my Halloween books to my coffee bar this year. I found them at a local used book store, but it looks like they’re available on Amazon too: Werewolves | Vampires | Witches by Nigel Suckling
Halloween cards
Just a few weekends ago, I went back through my cards from my 2017 Halloween card exchange and rediscovered this handmade coffee-themed card from Nancy. I decided to add it to the display.

The Bonus Items
And if you really want to take your Halloween coffee bar over the top, here are a few more things you can add:
Halloween coffee
There are lots of options out there on the Internet, like this one from Death Wish Coffee or this 20-pack of Halloween-themed K-cups.
Pumpkin syrups
If you’re a pumpkin spice junkie, you’ll definitely want to add a pumpkin coffee syrup to your bar. In the past, I haven’t been a fan of pumpkin coffees…but I’m slowly coming around.
You could also make your own for a fraction of the cost using this recipe from The Homidical Homemaker!

Halloween letterboard
If you can’t find a sign you love, a letterboard (this is the one I have) could be the perfect thing! Here are a few sayings you could use:
- I’m a real witch before coffee.
- Nightmare before coffee.
- I like my black magic with scream and sugar.
- Hocus pocus, I need coffee to focus.
- My broomstick runs on coffee.
Wide-mouth Halloween bowls
My ghoul Ashli put together a blog post recently of 10 ways to use those adorable wide-mouth Halloween bowls you see everywhere. I LOVE the idea of using it for coffee filters or K-cups!
Dry Ice
Okay, so this one you couldn’t leave on your coffee bar all the time, but wouldn’t a bit of dry ice in your black magic be fun? Esp. for a Halloween party!

Thanks for the fun post. I already have a coffee bar, but it still gave me some good ideas.
Have you actually had the Death Wish pumpkin coffee? If so, I’m interested in your review. It does sound good.

I haven’t tried Death Wish’s pumpkin coffee for myself, but I’m hoping to very soon!
Candace
Yes! I love it all! I attempted flavored sugar cubes in small Halloween themed molds. I started them too late and they didn’t dry. I’ll be prepared for next year!
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
Oooh, that’s a fun idea, Candace. Hopefully you can give them another try and they come out better!
jess
hi! my friend saw a picture of that adorable pumpkin mug with the glasses and i wanted to get one for her, do you by any chance remember where you got it?
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
That came from Kroger in 2018 and, unfortunately, they don’t have that exact mug this year. They do, however, have a ghost with glasses that is pretty darn cute! If you don’t have Kroger in your area, check King Soopers, Fry’s or Fred Meyer’s for it. They’re all owned by the same company have put out the same Halloween merchandise.
