Please do not kill me for today's blog post because we're going to talk about the C-word. Yes, my spooky friends...we're going to talk about *deep breath* Christmas.

YES, I KNOW. We haven’t even hit October 1 yet, and I’m already going THERE.

BUT…I’m doing so with good reason: to help you Halloweenify your holiday season! I mean, who needs all the glitz and glam when you can have doom and gloom come December 1?

As I’ve been Halloween hunting this season, I’ve been keeping an eye out for decor that could easily be repurposed for a Halloween spin on Christmas (which we call Spooky Christmas around here!).

And these items aren’t going to be around much longer – soon stores will be putting Halloween 60-70% off to clear out the black and orange for – GAG – red and green. You might as well shop around now while you still can.

Today I’m sharing 18 items you can buy NOW to have yourself a spooky little Christmas in another two months.

18 Things to Buy Now for Spooky Christmas (+ where to find them!)

1. Halloween Ornaments – Michaels

We’ll start simple: the easiest way to convert to spooky Christmas is with a Halloween-themed tree! You can find ornaments at most stores these days, but I love these sets from Michaels – esp. those haunted houses.

2. Snowball Pumpkins

I always hang on to a handful on pumpkins (see my tricks for keeping them past Halloween), and how appropriate for the holiday season are these aptly named snowball pumpkins? I found these at a local grocery store chain in Houston. (Or you could try your hand at growing your own…)

3. Halloween Ribbon at Joann’s

Pretty paper and pretty ribbons are two things you always need for Christmas. Any of these designs would be gorgeous wrapped around your tree.

4. Black Trees from Target

These little black trees would be perfect spooky Charlie Brown-style trees. Just add an ornament…and hope they don’t fall over like Charlie’s does. 😉

5. Jack Skellington at At Home

You knew he was coming sooner or later – no spooky Christmas would be complete without the ghoul who tries to take it over! Don’t have an At Home near you? Spirit Halloween also has a version!

6. Nightmare Before Christmas goodies at Spirit Halloween

And as long as we’re talking about Spirit Halloween, be sure to stop by your local store for all of these goodies.

7. Halloween Nutcrackers from Michaels

These have long been a favorite of mine and would be perfect for spooky Christmas!

8. Shiny Brite Ornaments from HomeGoods

HomeGoods is one of many stores that has great ornaments you could repurpose for Christmas. I love these because they’re Halloween colors without being outright spooky. (Don’t feel like hunting? Find them on Amazon.)

9. Gargoyle from At Home

Okay, so this guy isn’t outright Christmas…but wouldn’t he look festive in a Santa hat?

10. Bat Light from Target

This would be absolutely perfect at the top of a tree!

11. Spooky Sign from Kirkland’s

You can’t have a spooky Christmas without a sign, right? I’m already dreaming up ways to wrap this in garland and lights for the holidays.

12. Peeps

The perfect accouterment for hot chocolate come December! I found this display at Joann’s, but I trust that if you love Peeps (ya weirdo), you know where to find them. (Need help?)

13. Halloween Tombstone from Joann’s

These would be perfect wrapped in garland and lights too! And maybe a Santa hat on top of the skulls…

14. Black Pumpkin from At Home

This isn’t outright Christmasy either, but I think it’d look perfect under a tree.

15. Pom Pom Garland from Michaels

Perfect for your holiday tree!

16. Halloween Nutcrackers from 99 Cents Only

Looking for a more cost-effective Halloween nutcracker? While not as detailed, these guys are a steal at $2.99.

17. Halloween is my Christmas mug from TJ Maxx

This is easily one of my favorite buys this year because, let’s face it, when you create an entire blog about Halloween…Halloween is your every holiday.

18. Pumpkin Pails from Walmart

Another item that is perfect with a Santa hat on top of it!

Have you bought Halloween decor for Christmas?

I’d love to hear what you’re finding…and stick around after October 31st because we’re still going to have a TON of spooky fun around the blog. I can’t wait to celebrate the holiday season with a spooky spin again!

Happy haunting,

Love how you included the gargoyle! Zombie Pumpkins has Christmas pumpkin patterns carved a few last year! Definitely have bought stuff for Halloween tree/spooky Christmas already!

A few years ago I bought Santa hats that are supposed to cover the top of wine bottles. They fit perfectly on my Dracula and Van Helsing statues!
