#TravelTuesday: Where We’ve Traveled This Summer

?>

Summer is drawing to a close, which means another year of spooky #TravelTuesdays is winding down. And this summer took us all over the world!

If you haven’t been following along, here’s what you miss: each summer, I join the #TravelTuesday bandwagon and share spooky spots Halloween lovers can travel. And I ask some of my friends to join in on the fun too!

This summer, members of The Samhain Society wrote guest posts for some of their favorite haunted places to travel. We, unintentionally, spent a LOT of time in California, but we also ventured to Norway and I shared the tale of my favorite mythical beast I visit annually in Wisconsin.

Here’s a little recap in case you missed any of our adventures:

Meet northern Wisconsin’s mythical beast, the Hodag

It already feels like forever ago when I was kicking off my summer in northern Wisconsin. I stopped by Rhinelander to visit my favorite pal, the Hodag.

This guy started as a wild tale that was eventually debunked by the Smithsonian (that’s how serious of a story it was!), but I absolutely love how the town has embraced the hodag over the last 100 years. Read more.

Spend the night at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles

The next stop on our summer tour was the infamous Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. I can always count on Sarah from The Spooky Vegan to know the creepiest spots in sunny California! (Check out her post from last summer.)

This year, she took us inside the dark history of the Cecil Hotel, which stirred up quite the response on Instagram. Definitely one to read!

Tour gorgeously gothic Norway

Next, we hopped on a plane to travel halfway around the world to Norway. Anette from Norwegian Halloween gave us a wonderful tour of her home country, including some gorgeous gothic churches she loves.

One of these days I’ll make it to this country which is part of my heritage as well! Read more.

Meet the curious owners behind Bearded Lady Vintage & Oddities

My friends Mr. and Mrs. Halloween returned to #TravelTuesday with an awesome Q&A with the owners of Bearded Lady Vintage & Oddities and The Mystic Museum. I was thrilled to stop by just 10 days after this blog post and see it all for myself. Read more.

Wander through the Winchester Mystery House

Clearly, California is THE state to visit for spooky fun. We stuck around for another week as Mike from All Hallows Geek took us on a tour of the Winchester Mystery House and taught us a few things we didn’t know about the neverending mansion. Read more.

Take a trip to Traditions Year-Round Holiday Store in Canoga Park, CA and step inside a magical Halloween wonderland every Halloween lover needs to visit.

Live in an Instagram at Traditions

And finally, I took us back to southern California and shared an insider’s view on Traditions Year-Round Holiday Store. I know a lot of us Halloween lovers follow their Instagram, and I can confirm…the store is even MORE magical in person. Read more.
