How do you decorate for Halloween? Do you start in August or September? Or maybe you're one of those Halloween lovers who keeps their home decorated all year long. No matter how you do it, there's no wrong way to decorate.
But there IS always room for improvement, and rugs are one of those things I always look at in stores but rarely buy. I’m forever wondering where I’m going to use them.
Luckily, my friends at Sourpuss Clothing solved that problem for me. They kindly sent me a few of their Halloween rugs to check out, and I found some good spots in the Spooky Little Apartment for them:

So where did they end up? Well, I’ve moved them around a few times – here are all the spots I suggest trying out a Halloween rug to make your home spooky.

1. Outside the Front Door
Duh, right? I typically don’t keep a rug outside my front door since it’s technically inside, but rugs are so useful for cleaning off your shoes before you go in. I love the half spiderweb in front of my door! (It would have fit in perfectly with last year’s villain’s lair entrance…)

2. Inside the Front Door
Inside your front door is a perfect spot too. I love the bat rug here so it can tell me goodbye every morning as I go to work.

3. At the Bathroom Sink
Here’s another spot where I don’t typically keep a rug, but these Halloween rugs from Sourpuss lie nice and flat (and stay in place!) so in front of my sink is the perfect place for one.

4. At the Bathtub
Lately, I am a bath addict. They’re one of my favorite ways to relax, and adding a rug at the edge of my rub makes it that much more inviting.

5. At the Kitchen Sink
Since I live in an older building, I have no dishwasher. (The dishwasher is me.) A fair amount of my time in the kitchen is spent at the sink washing dishes, and having a comfy little rug at the kitchen sink is a must for my feet!

6. In Front of the Fridge
Confession: I keep a rug here for water spills. I keep a pitcher of filtered water in my fridge so I always have cold H2O on hand…but I’m not always the most graceful about it. 🤷♀️ It’s nice having a rug here for that reason.

7. Next to a Bed
I always thought rugs on the carpet were a bit silly…but I actually love how this adds a bit more coziness to my Halloween bedroom.

8. In Front of a Dresser
Like the bedside, adding one in front of my dresser makes this space a little cozier…which is perfect when I’m standing here in the morning hunting for rings and earrings to wear. 😂

9. In a Closet
This might be my favorite spot for a rug in the whole apartment! While my walk-in closet is small, this makes it feel more like a living space and not a functional space, which I love.
