Happy Springoween! Yup, it's official - I'm making ALL the holidays and seasons Halloweeny this year. Zero apologies. Halloween is every day!
Today I’m turning my attention to spring. It’s been a dreary winter for everyone, and I’m finding myself anxious for more sunshine, green trees and blossoming flowers.
But how do you make such a bright and cheerful season more like October 31st? With some fun gardening and clever DIY projects, of course. While round two of my pumpkin patch is high on my list, I’m also finding inspiration from some of the ideas in this post.
Here are 10 Halloween DIY projects perfect for Springoween!
Concrete Pumpkin Planter
Have old trick-or-treat pails you aren’t using anymore? Or maybe ones that are damaged…but you’ve hung on to them because you just can’t let go? Use them to make a concrete planter for your home!
Succulent Craft Pumpkin Planter
I have a little collection of craft pumpkins I keep meaning to do something with…but never seem to find the inspiration. This succulent planter created with a craft pumpkin just might be the solution I’ve been looking for!
Pumpkin Diorama
And as long as we’re talking craft pumpkins, here’s another fun idea. Trade out some of the fall leaves for spring flowers, and you’d have a cute little spring garden inside a pumpkin!
Skull Flower Vase
Would you believe this skull is made from foam? Just a bit of chalk paint totally transforms it from cheap to stunning. Add a few spring flowers, and you have a piece of decor that would live in my Spooky Little Apartment all year long!
Spooky Bats and Boo Buckets
This DIY caught my eye for its greenery. Just add a few faux plants to cute buckets. Then create a few flying bats, and you have the perfect Halloween DIY project for spring!
Coffin Table Planter
Can you tell I love mini Halloween planters? They’re just so much fun – and so clever, like this coffin planter perfect for your coffee table.
Rose Gold Pumpkin Planters
Love rose gold? Take some cheap mini pumpkin pails (I know you’ve been hoarding them…because I have been too!) and spray paint them rose gold – or any color you love. Then add a little plant and place them around your house!
Halloween Tipsy Pots
I see these DIY projects on Pinterest a lot and always love them, but I especially love this take that includes cauldrons! Wouldn’t this be fun to add to your garden all year?
Skull Succulent Planter
Right now, I have a plain silver skull on my coffee table…but I feel like it’s begging for a succulent makeover. This one was made using a plastic skull that was spraypainted black – yet another Springoween DIY you could easily customize to your home and tastes!
Haunted Houseplants
Need a little more black in your life? Buy a few fake potted plants, spraypaint them black and viola…insta-Halloween you can use all year long!

I LOVE the idea of painting fake plants! I cannot keep plants alive. Ugh.

I adore this.

Me too, Samantha!
Sheila Echols-Smesny
YES!! Love the skull vase and basically anything spray painted. If it weren’t for spray paint and hot glue guns I just wouldn’t craft.
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
They are both magical, transformative tools! I love what you can do with both. :)
Jazz
These are cute ideas! I love the rose gold pumpkin planters.

Aren’t those gorgeous? I love them too!

I’m thrilled Springoween is a thing. It needs to be MORE of a thing. But it makes me quite happy lol
GothicGourdGirl
I have, as you can guess, literally a craft store’s worth of pumpkins of every size, shape and colour imaginable. Back in 2010, when I started carving professionally, I would carve spring-themed pumpkins, of the white faux variety. Carve them like Fabergé Easter Eggs, put silk ferns coming from the top…pumpkins really are as versatile as one’s imagination can make them.
So glad to see this post supporting the year-round use of the gourd!
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
That is so cool! :) I love that you repurposed pumpkins to keep the Halloween spirit alive all year long.
Chelsea Celaya
Ok, I swear I’ve read a lot of these posts already. :/ Springoween is great! It also says we’re halfway to Halloween! Woo! The skull succulent planter is my favorite and would be a great way to work into some spooky tiki.
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
Stay tuned – Halloween tiki is coming sooner than you think. :)
Chelsea Celaya
I can’t wait!

Love all these! I tried clicking on the Coffin Planter but it takes me to a website and I can’t find the DIY instructions. Do you have them on another blog?
Miranda | Spooky Little Halloween
Oh no! Looks like that website must have shut down since I published this. Here is a similar one that has instructions: https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/a-fabulous-fete-14205591/succulent-filled-coffin-planter-diy-3580093587
