8 Ways to Decorate for Valoween

Black hearts, skulls and blood red roses: these are the things of which Valoween is made!

Just in case you haven’t heard, I’m on a mission to take over Valentine’s Day this year and make it a bit more…Halloweeny. So far I’ve shared:

Today we’re tackling your home! I’ll admit…I haven’t decorated for Valentine’s Day in years, and this year is no exception. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t found some stunning ideas for making your home a little spooky just in time for February 14.

Here are 8 ways to decorate for Valoween:

There’s no better place to start than the front door! This black rose heart is the perfect door hanging to recognize Valentine’s Day while keeping it creepy.

Next, buy yourself a dozen blood-red roses and display them in this anatomical heart vase. Find more options here.

If you’ve hung around this blog for any amount of time…you know I am obsessed with garlands and pennant banners of all kinds. These black hearts would fit right into the Spooky Little Apartment and into your Valoween decor!

Need a bubbling cauldron of love? This would look great tucked away on a shelf, like my friend Hazel (@halloweenhomemaker on Instagram), put together. It’d also be perfect as a centerpiece on a coffee table or kitchen table!

Skull candles are a perfect touch for Halloween decor, like this matte black one from Ember Candle Co. I especially love their handmade candles because you can pick your own scent! (For Valentine’s Day, I’d pick rose.)

Just in case wax melts are more your style, I’d be remiss if I didn’t provide you with an anatomical heart option!

Art prints are one of my favorite ways to add a little holiday flair to my everyday home decor. This one will let your special someone know just how much you love them! I mean, coveting someone’s skull is pretty serious…

Last, but certainly not least, if you still have pumpkins hanging around (like, um, me…seven to be exact), you might consider carving one up for a Valentine jack-o-lantern!

Want to make it last longer? Use that carvable craft pumpkin I know you have squirreled away for another project you’re never going to get to (like, um…again, me).

Are you decorating for Valoween?

Happy haunting,

LOVE the black rose heart! Thank you for taking over this stupid commercial “holiday” with something more fun. ❤️

That black heart wreath is something. I love felt as a craft medium. It would be fun to throw a Halloween-themed Valentine’s party too, wouldn’t it.

I didn’t decorate for Valoween or even Valentine’s Day (I feel like it just completely snuck up on me!), but I love that heart vase! The love cauldron is also super adorable and would be very easy to make with odds and ends of Halloween and Christmas decor.
