Halloween is turning my black thumb green.
Last week I shared my little pumpkin patch I planted as an experiment. (One I’m expecting to end badly…) This week I have a fun idea that can turn any living space a little spooky.
But first, I want to talk about your Halloween junk. And I mean junk in the most loving way possible because we all know…we have a little too much Halloween, right? But let’s get more specific: by junk I mean the odds and ends in your Halloween collection that you can never seem to find a spot for come October.
That’s where today’s post starts.
Just a few weeks ago, one of my coworkers gifted me this guy:

The moment I saw him…I had a vision. I knew he would never hold Witches’ Brews. He was going to have a much different purpose.

So fun, right? Succulents are great little plants that come in small enough sizes…your can tuck them inside just about anything – including all those Halloween items you’re not sure what to do with!
And, best of all for me, that’s pretty difficult to kill!
What a perfect use for this cup. I found one other Halloween item in my collection that lent itself well to planting succulents, and I love how both turned out. They’re helping keep the Spooky Little Apartment, well, spooky! But more on that in just a minute…
Here’s a look inside my Halloween succulent planting process:

I also amassed a little collection of these cauldrons, so I thought planting a succulent in one would be perfect.

My succulents!

I LOVE this one.

And I love the coloring on this one – purple and spooky!

This one totally looks like something a witch would grow.

He just needs a worm crawling through there to be extra spooky!

So where did these Halloween succulents end up in the Spooky Little Apartment?
For that, you’ll have to stay tuned until next month! I’m in the process of re-vamping my bedroom, and these succulent planters are part of the spooky makeover I’ll be unveiling. I can’t wait to share it with you!
Happy haunting,

Dana
I. LOVE. THESE!!! Oh man, now I’m having visions of a glittery pink cauldron pot… Maybe that’s what I need for my future basil plant!! Thank you for sharing this adorable idea <3

Ooooh, I like that Dana! And I am obsessed with green and pink lately. You’ll have to tag me on Instagram if you do it!

What a great idea for those odds and end Halloween pieces that we all don’t necessarily have the heart to toss out! These would also make great party favors if you had enough of these odds and ends hanging about, especially at a Victorian-themed party or seance.

Oooh, I like the party favor idea a lot! Just might have to incorporate that into a future party.
