All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!
Something funny happens when I host a Halloween party. A phenomenon, really. My friends and family start sharing everything they see related to that year’s theme with me. For example, after my Dia de los Muertos theme in 2014, everyone started buying me sugar skull goodies. (Not a complaint – I love them!)
It makes me happy because I feel like that’s their way of showing me their excitement for my themes.
This year’s love for my Tim Burton theme just might be my favorite. You would not believe how much Tim Burton goodness is out there to consume! So when my longtime BFF Tammi sent me info about this Tim Burton art show happening at East End Studio Gallery (Houston, TX) very close to the Spooky Little Apartment, I knew I had to go!
Saturday afternoon Tammi, Amanda and I met up and set off to check it out. I took over 100 photos, and I know you guys were anxious to see more about I posted on Instagram over the weekend.
Here are some of my favorite “Crazy Reality” pieces:

When you walk in and this is the FIRST thing you see…you know life is about to get GOOD.

I am absolutely IN. LOVE. with this rendition of Oogie Boogie.

Not sure if it was intentional, but I kind of like how Sally’s canvas is leaning towards Jack’s. These were done with tons of sequins – you had to see it in person to get the full effect.

Absolutely loved this abstract version of Edward’s scissor hand.

Everybody loves a Tim Burton art show!

I had to have my photo taken with this one. So gorgeous!
Which piece is your favorite?
I’d love to hear it in the comments – and keep an eye out for more posts broken down by movie through the end of the year. There were SO many photos, I couldn’t get them all in one post but I definitely want to share them with you soon.
Enjoying this crazy reality,

It’s hard to beat the first art piece of Tim Burton with the Edward Scissor Hands arm. I think it best represents Tim Burton’s Legacy. He’s a living legend!

I agree – I saw that one on social media before I went, but seeing it in person was awesome. Absolutely gorgeous tribute!
