A hearse pulled up beside me, and I smiled. I had just entered the freeway and glanced over my shoulder to merge into traffic. I was having deja vu – I’d done a trip to my favorite At Home store just one month before on the hunt for Halloweenies (my term for Halloween decor).
It was a hot, sunny summer day just like this one – not the kind of weather you associate with October 31 adventures. On that trip I’d also been dressed in my typical weekend garb that’s more appropriate for Stevie Nicks or the girls of AHS: Coven than summer in Houston.
That Saturday’s trip turned up nothing, and I ended up going home with treasures for my newly redone living room instead of Halloweenies.
But as I merged into the busy lunchtime traffic behind the hearse on Saturday, I felt like the car was an omen. A good one. Today, I thought as I turned up my Halloween mix pumping through the speakers, I’m going to find what I’m looking for.
Saturday did not disappoint. At Home is easily one of my favorite places to go Halloweenie hunting. They always have a fantastic – and affordable – variety of Halloween goodies. Whether you’re looking for yard decor or lights, the creepy or the cutesy, you will find everything at At Home. (And no, they don’t pay me to say that – I genuinely love this store.)
I took my time combing over every single item on their shelves, snapping photos and making mental notes of what I might add to my collection.
So today I’m sharing my findings with you! Grab your coffee and get comfy. At Home had no shortage of killer Halloween gear for 2016. (Resource links at the bottom of the post.)

I don’t know about you, but I hear magical Halloween sounds in my head when I turn a corner and see an aisle like this for the first time each season:

Indoor Halloween Decor

These guys were the first thing that caught my eye. I mean…how could a full-size gold skeleton not catch your eye?

There are so many fun things I could imagine doing with this little cage! Oh, the possibilities.

It took a second glance to realize this was a bat wreath. I kinda love things that require a closer look.

I already saw one Instagram friend who snagged one of these beautifully simple bottles. I think I need all three – plus, all three have matching dessert plates!

So many fun skeletons – those giant grey skulls at the bottom would look so great outside my apartment door stacked up with some pumpkins!

These guys look ready to have a great time at your Halloween party, don’t they?

This entire wall called my name. I adore Halloween decor that’s a little cutesy, a little vintage and just a hint of spooky.

This little guy was by far my favorite Halloweenie I spotted – I will definitely be going back for him very soon.

Cute and quirky Calaveras are my favorite.

I had to send a photo of this guy to my mom as soon as I snapped it. His little top hat and huge grin are unbearably cute!

And this guy with his crooked, spider-topped hat. AGH! IN. LOVE. MUST. HAVE.

The best part of At Home is just when you think you’ve seen it all, you peer around another corner and ta-dah! More Halloween! Definitely my happy place.

This light up crystal ball would have been perfect on last year’s Witches Ball fortune telling table.

There are so many things I’ve spotted already this year with “spooky” on them. And I love them all!

I’m usually not into the super creepy or gruesome Halloween stuff…but I kind of love these plates. They were tucked down on a lower shelf, which made discovering them all the more fun. (And creepy!)

This was in the fall collection…but being the basic white girl I am, I love anything pumpkin. (Um, except for actual pumpkin spice lattes – they’re gross. Sorry.)

I want a Halloween tree so badly! And all these ornaments would look fantastic on one!

Cop-out costumes or bonus goodies? I’ll let you be the judge.

I couldn’t help trying on the bat headband, though!
Outdoor Halloween Decor
We’re nowhere near done, my friend. There’s still tons of outdoor goodies to peruse!

I’ll take one of everything, please! (Except I don’t have a yard or any kind of outdoor space these days – darn living in the city!)

Nothing is cuter than skeletons in top hats.

Except for maybe gap-tooth smiling jack-o-lanterns.

I’d even take this black cat home – and I am soooo not a cat person.

Ominous, yet cute. Perfection!

Need a ghost army?

This sparkle witch is so much fun!

As are these giant jack’s!

“Free us! Take us home with you!”

“Come, my dear! Halloween draws closer…”

“These are so creepy,” a lady muttered to her husband as they walked by me snapping photos of these guys. I beg to differ.

Skeleton gnomes are even cuter than zombie gnomes! I’d put these in a garden year-round.

Who doesn’t need Slimer in their front yard this year?

Or a friendly Michelangelo?
Where to find these Halloweenies
Find something you can’t live without? All items in this post are available at At Home. Find your local store – if there isn’t one near you, check their list of stores that are coming soon! (I’m betting if you keep an eye on the seasonal section of the website, you’ll see some Halloween goodies there too.)
By the way if you scroll to the bottom of the At Home homepage, you can get 10% off a purchase when you join their mailing list.
More first looks coming this week!
I stopped by a few other stores this weekend to snap photos of their Halloween 2016 collections – be sure to follow me on Twitter so you don’t miss a single one.
Happy hunting,

They are awesome! I think At Home and HomeGoods are my two favorite places for Halloween finds these days.
