Costumes are my favorite part of Halloween. Since I was little, I loved dressing up. In my first post on Spooky Little Halloween, I shared one of the cutest Halloween costumes I’ve ever worn. (And hand-made by my mom! Check it out.) Over the years, I wore some of my favorite dance costumes for Halloween to get some extra use out of them.
One year, I got really ambitious and made my own bat costume. My mom helped me with wings, I made some ears and off I went trick or treating, proud as could be of my creativity.
The third time I got told I was an adorable black cat, I was ready to stomp home.
Luckily, I got over that – and made sure to make my costumes crystal clear moving forward. Since starting up Halloweenie Roast, I’ve had some fun themes – a masquerade, Rocky Horror and an epic Harry Potter party.
But this year – The Witches Ball – might have been my favorite solely for the costumes. Each year at Halloweenie Roast, we decide costume contest winners by a public vote.
Here’s a peek at this year’s Halloween costumes:
Mel’s sea witch won the witch hat contest, hands down, and Mandy and Aryn in their devil in the blue dress and priest costumes took home top prizes in the general costume contest.
Next year’s party theme is definitely going to produce some killer costumes – want to know the theme before even my guests do? Join my email newsletter. I’ll be sharing my first round of party plans in the next few weeks!
By the way, if you join before 11:59 p.m. CST on December 4, you’ll be entered into my latest giveaway for a copy of “The Art of Horror” by Stephen Jones. Take a peek inside now.
And with this post, Halloweenie Roast 2015 is pretty much wrapped up – but if you love looking at party photos stay tuned. I’ll be sharing some of my parties from the past seven years throughout 2016!
Happy haunting,

Justine
What a fun looking group! You might be the first person to have both a female and male Ursula in attendance at your party. :) I think I might have Tammi’s hat. You might have seen it on my skull in those trick-or-treat pics this year. I’d love to see some pictures from the Rocky Horror themed party!

I think Tammi’s little hat was my favorite of the night. I was hoping someone would come with one of those on after I saw them in stores, and I’m glad she did! :)
I promise to share some Rocky Horror photos soon!
