2015 was my favorite Halloweenie Roast yet. A simple theme – the Witches’ Ball – made it super easy to decorate with all my general Halloween decor…which made my prep work minimal this year.

Maybe I should have spent that extra time wishing away bad weather. Houston ended up getting heavy downpours for the second weekend in a row on Halloween, causing flooding in some areas. And since the point of my party is to be outdoors around a bonfire all night…it definitely put a damper on things (no pun intended) and sent me into plan B mode the morning of Halloween.

Luckily, everything turned out beautifully. The rain moved out in time to still get the fire going and my lights up around the patio. And it gave me a chance to turn my parent’s kitchen (I have no outdoor space, so they very, VERY graciously let me host my party in their backyard each year.) into a creepy witches lair, of sorts.

I have too many pictures to share in just one post, so today we’re taking a spin through all the decor I used to create The Witches’ Ball: Halloweenie Roast 2015.

(By the way, here’s the invite my guests received! I love how it came out.)

As usual, Sir Clayton welcomed guests at the back gate and pointed them to the broom parking and the party.

The broom with the rocket attached was my dad’s creation. So clever!

The lights I hang around the fire pit patio.

And the fire for weenie roasting!

The indoor view. I originally wanted to hang my witch hats outside between two large trees, but the rain forced me into plan B. I almost liked this better!

Spooky lighting is my favorite. LOTS and LOTS of candles and lanterns in my decor.

My mini photo booth for the evening!

A few years back, someone brought these eyeballs in their dip. I’m so glad they left them behind because they were a ton of fun to use in our “Tykes Tears” (aka water) this year.

If you’ve been following along with Spooky Little Halloween this year, you’ll recognize this apothecary jar from my coffee table. I added in the witch photo for the party.

I ended up going with Clinton Kelly’s Vampire Punch for my 2015 witches brew. The best part was the vodka-soaked cherries in the bottom. Get the recipe here. (And hat tip to Rhiannon for sending me running to Target for that “Drink up witches” sign – too perfect!)

Being a witchy hostess, I also set up a few potions for my guests to try – Spider Blend (cherry liqueur), Cyanide (cactus juice liqueur) and my super secret clear potion in the carafe (mentholmint liqueur). They were a hit!

My mom painstakingly made all the ice for my party so I didn’t have to transport it. Seeing a little skull face floating in my drink always brings a smile to my face.

I even decorate the bathroom each year.

My skeleton was my favorite little surprise for my guests this year. I love him so much that I kind of want to put him up in the Spooky Little Apartment somewhere. Still taking name suggestions!

These witches jars were my favorite vignette. Using this gif I found on Pinterest, I created labels for some of my apothecary jars and old mason jars. Then I encouraged my guests to pick the one that best applied to their needs, tear off a leaf or sprig and drop it into the cauldron!

Costume contest voting! Always chaotic.

At the kitchen table, I set up a little fortune telling area.

My Faeries’ Oracle tarot cards are my favorite. I caved and bought the Gypsy Witch ones for fun – not sure what I think about them just yet.

So grateful my mom lets me borrow her Ouija board from time to time for decor!

The worst part: cleaning up…
