My 2015 Halloween Bucket List

My Halloween Bucket List for 2015 - 19 fun things I want to do by October 31st | spookylittlehalloween.com

October is my favorite month of the year. There’s something magical about the change in the weather. (So long, Houston humidity!) I love the way the sunlight streams through the trees just after sunrise and just before sunset at this time of the year. And fall has always felt like the season where I clean the slate and start over on a lot of things.

It’s also a month where I want to do lots of fun stuff, so I was super inspired last week when Sarah of thespookyvegan.com posted her Autumn 2015 Bucket List. So inspired, that I decided to put together a little list of my own.

Here’s everything I want to accomplish (and some things I already have done!) this October:
  • Purchase pumpkins for my apartment – done!
  • Watch at least one horror movie I’ve never seen before
  • Make a new Halloween wreath for my door
  • Bake a pumpkin treat I’ve never tried
  • Find five new songs for my Halloween playlist
  • Send a Halloween card to my closest friends (and a special one to my niece!)
  • Host an informal pumpkin beer tasting party
  • Buy one new piece of Halloween jewelry – done, thanks Frightwares!
  • Bake these candy corn cookies I’m always drooling over
  • Listen to every episode of The Halloween Haunt podcast
  • Find one new Halloweenie for my apartment – done, done and done!
  • Carve at least one jack-o-lantern
  • Make my costume for Halloweenie Roast
  • Check out a local ghost tour
  • Try at least one no-carve pumpkin idea
  • Give my coworkers a little trick or treat goodie bag
  • Read my copy of Halloween: An American Holiday, an American History
  • Watch as many Halloween specials on TV as possible (esp. ghost hunting ones!)
  • Listen to Dead Air via radiodork.com as much as possible (so many good Halloween songs!)

What’s on your Halloween Bucket List this year?

Happy haunting,

Well, how delightful! Thanks for the plug.

I’m constantly adding and deleting songs on Dead Air. I currently have 999….but there’s room for a thousand… ;-)

I read your post on Halloween Playlists (https://spookylittlehalloween.com/2015/10/03/5-classics-for-your-halloween-party-playlist/), and I couldn’t agree more with your philosophy for picking songs. If you hear any missteps on Dead Air 98point3FM, or think of anything that’s missing, please let me know. This certainly isn’t a sterile Pandora jukebox. I work on it every day, and for several hours a day during the Hallow’s season….adding music, deleting music, and creating sound collages to play between songs.

    Cheers-

This comment was a pleasant surprise to find! Thanks so much Clay – I can tell we have similar philosophies because I love everything I hear on your station. :) At this point, I may bypass my own playlist and just put your station on for my party this year.

I wouldn’t change a thing – I think you have a great mix of songs and sounds! The sound collages between songs have been some of my favorite things I’ve heard.

I’ll be posting more on playlists in the coming weeks, including my “master” playlist – it’s only 175+ songs, but I think it’s a good mix.
