If Halloween has a polar opposite holiday, it’s Valentine’s Day. There’s so much cute and fluff and sweetness, not to mention all through bright, happy colors. It’s enough to make any Halloween lover worth their pumpkin guts a little sick to their stomach.
So, of course, I have to come along and ruin it for you all!
This year, I’m officially moving we, as Halloween lovers, take Valentine’s Day as our own and call it…Valoween.
Yeah, Valoween isn’t a new concept, and I can’t lay claim to coining the clever phrase. But I can contribute some creepiness and fun in an otherwise happy, shiny landscape. So that’s exactly what’s happening over the next two weeks! Keep an eye on the site as I share a few ideas for how to turn this holiday all about love into something a bit more sinister…
Today we start with some spooky Valoween gifts perform for the Halloween lover in your life. (Or yourself!)
14 Valoween Gifts for Halloween Lovers:
I’ve been following Witch City Wicks since I launched Spooky Little Halloween, and I’m always in love with the creativity of their products. The Valentine candle in their Black collection is no exception! Perfect hint of spooky, and it smells like blood orange and red roses. Yum!
WCW also offers these red-hot cinnamon-scented candles in a two-ounce heart-shaped travel tin. I especially love the look of the black hearts!
If I had a million dollars, I’d probably buy everything in Killin’ Me Softly’s Etsy store. This pillow is part of a recent collection KMS has been sharing for Valentine’s Day, and I love the headstone with the rose and spiderweb!
I just watched this movie for the first time a few weeks ago, and I loved it. There is no better, creepier and just totally weird love story out there to share for Valoween!
My buddy Casper Spell has conjured up an adorable new design for Valentine’s Day. I’m partial to the design on pink, but you can grab it in a variety of colors and styles. It also comes as a double-sided throw pillow.
I know, this blog post is turning into a LOT of pink for some of you…but I couldn’t help picking this little skeleton guy to share! I love his cotton candy heart spun straight from his own heartstrings. This would be a gorgeous piece of art to own.
No spooky Valentine’s Day would be complete without Morticia and Gomez! And I’m loving these brand new lapel pins from Two Ghouls Press. (They also have a fun Maitlands pin pair.) Perfect gift for your lover OR your BFF.
Horror Decor is always coming up with fun things, especially for Valentine’s Day. Last year I fell in love with their black heart wax melts, and this year I am seriously digging these chocolate wax melts…with a real heart (strawberry scented) thrown in!
And finally, maybe you just need a simple greeting card for your spooky lover? I dig this gothic Valentine I found on Etsy.
Tell them you love them more than your favorite day of the year with this print from Rhode!
One of the reasons I love planchettes is because they look like hearts. I would die to have one of these from Pumpkinhead Print Shop’s collection!
Bath products are one of my favorite gifts – they always feel so luxurious! These bleeding hearts for the shower are a perfect love blend with a bit of rose, jasmine and ylang ylang.
Get her a little bit of everything spooky and creepy with this Valentine bundle from Ghoul Babe.
Zombies + The Beatles = true love.
What will you get your special someone for Valoween?
Or, better yet, which goodie are you buying for yourself? No matter what you love, I hope you have a hauntingly good Valoween this year!
