Halloween 2018 isn’t going to know what hit it! Welcome back to Spooky Little Halloween, the blog where we celebrate October 31st all year long. I’ve spent the past six weeks reading your surveys, digging into my analytics, planning like crazy…and finally catching up on sleep after my busiest Halloween season yet.
Now, I am ridiculously excited for Halloween 2018! Thanks to your feedback, I have SO many fun things planned for this year, and I can’t wait to share them with you…so today I’m giving you a little preview of what you can expect on the blog in 2018!
By the way, my newsletter subscribers got the first look at this list..and were the only ones to hear my early plans for Halloween season! (Like whether I’ll be doing another card exchange…)
Want to be the first to see what I have planned, plus get a Halloween treat from me every Friday? Get on the list.
Here’s your preview of what’s coming to Spooky Little Halloween this year:

Ever seen a cool Halloween idea and wondered…”How the heck do I pull that off?” Wonder no more! In this new series, I’ll be giving you some easy-to-follow instructions on how to create things like a full-size cemetery gate for under $10, how to set up a killer photo booth for your Halloween party and more. Have something you want to see? Leave a comment or find me on social media!
Look, this is the real reason we’re all here, right? Because we want EVERY day to be Halloween! In this series, I’ll give you easy, actionable ways you can make every single day feel a bit more like October 31st, along with an occasional dose of Halloween inspiration to make your home, wardrobe and more feel spooky 24/7, 365.
Spooky in the City
This might be the series I am MOST excited about launching! The longer I’m at this Halloween blogging thing, the more I discover Halloween is constantly hiding in plain sight. With Spooky in the City, I’m going on a mission to explore Houston and the surrounding area for seriously spooky places to visit all year.
The series kicks off with the National Museum of Funeral History. (Did you even know such a thing existed?!) I’m also excited to visit a few local oddity and new age shops, historic cemeteries, landmark costume shops and maybe even go hunting ghosts. And all along the way, I’ll encourage you to seek out the spooky things in your city too, plus give you tips on how to find them.
Spooky Little Book Club
I am excited to share I am launching the Spooky Little Book Club! We will pick a Halloweeny, spooky or supernatural novel quarterly, read it and then discuss it in a private Facebook group. Each seasonal read will have a theme and as a book club member, you’ll get to vote for the book you want to read!

More downloadable content
Also new this year you’ll start seeing more fun things like downloadable worksheets, printables or bonus ideas on blog posts. I hope you guys will enjoy these and use them for your Halloween projects!
More Instagram & Facebook lives!
One of my goals for 2017 was to launch a YouTube channel. Well, that didn’t quite happen…but I had a heck of a lot of fun hanging out with you guys on Instagram live, so I am committing to doing this monthly as well as hanging out for a bit on Facebook live weekly.
Instagram Live: Every second Wednesday of the month, look for me on Instagram live at 7:30 p.m. CST. Each month will have a theme – come hang out and share your thoughts on the topic, ask questions and be Halloweeny with me. Make sure you don’t miss them by following me and turning on notifications for my posts!
Facebook Live: Plus every Monday (starting tonight!) you’ll find me on Facebook live between 6 – 10 p.m. CST where I’ll stop in to chat, talk a bit about a recent blog post and answer any questions you have. Make sure you’ve liked my page and have notifications turned on!
Plus old favorites like…
And, of course, some of your favorites will be returning. Via my reader survey and Google Analytics stats, I know you guys LOVE my posts when Halloween items start hitting store shelves. Don’t worry – I’ll continue haunting every last store I can get to and sharing what they’re selling as early as I can this season.
I also know you guys LOVED posts like my 13 facts about Friday the 13th so look for more. By your request, I’ll be posting even more costume hacks and ideas this year! You’ll also continue to find DIYs (including a few I mentioned and just didn’t get around to sharing last year) as well as a larger variety of recipes, more decorating tips, tricks and ideas, cool Halloween products from small businesses and SO much more.
So…which feature are you most excited about?
And what do you want to see in some of these series? Leave your suggestions in the comments! There’s still LOTS more in the works I can’t share just yet. Make sure you’re on the list for Treats Not Tricks so you don’t miss any of it.
