All October posts are part of the Countdown to Halloween!
The Spooky Little Apartment has made its full Halloween transformation. Gone are the cozy reading corners, brightly colored throw pillows and happiness. Instead, I’ve welcomed in the cobwebs and skulls, adorned my surfaces in pumpkins and am ready for October 31st!
Well, okay maybe not quite. The brightly colored throw pillows on my couches are still there, and skulls are part of my year-round decor. But I have fully decorated for Halloween!
And over the last few days I’ve been giving you guys a tour of it all. So far we’ve toured my kitchen and bathroom – yes, even my bathroom gets a little dose of black and orange this time of year. We’ve also hung out in my bedroom, which actually stays Halloweeny all year. I’ve even shown you how I put together my spooky front door inside my apartment building.
Today, I’m giving you the final tour of the Spooky Little Apartment for Halloween 2017: my living room! I’m excited about this space because I’ve changed it up the most. It only took two consecutive viewings of “Hocus Pocus” (and one broken-and-repaired picture frame) for me to finish it all, but I’m very pleased with how this room turned out.
Here’s your peek inside.
Halloween Home Tour – Part III:
For a girl who wears black and gray almost exclusively these days…I sure have a colorful living room, don’t I? Let’s take a closer look at some of the decor.
This Halloween countdown sign has been a piece of decor that always finds a prominent spot in my living room. It’s from Etsy, but the seller no longer makes them.
This guy was a cheap find at Party City this year. I love him tucked under my plant.
Can you spot the silly thing I forgot to move out of this photo? 😉
Another Blossom Bucket figurine. I am obsessed with finding these at fall craft shows.
I loved my boo pumpkins from Spirit Halloween so much after writing this post that I decided to leave them on my TV stand.
My third and final Happy Meal pail found its place on top of my bookshelves!
I always find myself wishing I had a mantle to decorate as a focal point in my apartment, so this year I decided to make my TV area the focal point instead! I pulled down some artwork that is usually displayed there year-round and replaced it with my Halloween advent calendar. (Purchased on clearance at Kohl’s a few years ago.)
I’m really happy with how it turned out. A bit of cobwebs, bats and more of my paper lanterns, pom poms and witch hat were just the things to bring it all together.
My side tables are always a challenge because I don’t like to overload them with stuff…yet at Halloween it’s a perfect opportunity to make them a bit more spooky. I’m not sure I achieved the balance I wanted, but looking at it does make me happy.
I filled it with some candy corn from the dollar store and added a black candle I already had, and it’s the perfect coffee table centerpiece.
Girlie and spooky – this couch sums me up as a person perfectly. 😂
Of course, my love seat couldn’t go unadorned. The Ouija board pillow is a year-round staple.
This pairing is my favorite, though. I’m automatically drawn to anything Ouija, candy corn-colored or with the phrase “trick or treat”. Add all three AND make it a throw pillow? I’ll take it! (From KMSxCo on Etsy, but it is sold out. The design is still available as a button or patch.)
How darling is this masked pumpkin? I scored him at a craft show in early September. He’s a perfect way to display a bit of candy.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember this cabinet from my mid-August Halloween shopping weekend. I fell in LOVE with the pumpkin spice latte cabinet at HomeGoods last year for the sheer novelty of it, but as a non-PSL lover…I felt like it would look out of place in my collection.
Witches brews, however, are something I know well! When I turned around and saw this beauty, I knew I had to have it. I wasn’t sure where it would live, but it’s found a home on top of one of my bookshelves. I just love it!
Where all the blogging magic happens! Well, okay…maybe not all of it. But this is where a lot of it happens.
Gotta keep the Skele-phone handy this time of year for incoming calls from The Great Pumpkin.
And, of course, no Halloween blogger’s desk would be complete without a jack-o-lantern or name plaque.
They’ve gotta know who they’re dealing with, after all!
The pumpkin banner I used in this post found a home above my desk for Halloween season.
And I found one more spot for my hanging decor.
These printable banners are still one of my very favorite pieces of my Halloween decor. (Found on Etsy, but it doesn’t look like the design is still available.)
And finally, my little reading corner!
What’s your favorite decor in my living room?
