15 Halloween Costume Ideas From Pinterest That I Love

What are you going to be for Halloween this year? It’s one of my favorite questions to ask fellow Halloween fans. I feel like who we choose to dress up as each year says a lot about our personalities.

Over the past 10 years, my costumes have included a flapper girl, Alice in Wonderland, Rita Skeeter, Janet from “Rocky Horror” and a female Jack Skellington.

This year, I’m embracing my inner baddie and dressing up as one of my favorite villains of all time – Maleficent.

But every year, I find myself dreaming of more costumes to create than I have time for – especially when I spend too much time on Pinterest. Here are 15 other costumes I’d love to create if I didn’t have my costume picked out already.

15 Halloween Costume Ideas From Pinterest That I Love:

1. Bat

If you’ve listened to me on History Goes Bump, you’ve heard the semi-tragic story of the year I dressed up as a bat. This is the perfect costume to finally right that Halloween 1993 wrong!

2. Khaleesi from “Game of Thrones”

So full disclosure: I don’t watch “Game of Thrones”, nor do I ever intend to, but if I had to…Khaleesi would be a ridiculously easy transformation for me.

3. Sanderson Sisters from “Hocus Pocus”

Unlike “Game of Thrones”, if forced to dress up as a character from “Hocus Pocus” I would have a heck of a time trying to decide which Sanderson sister to become. Each costume – and sister – is so much fun. I’d want to embrace my inner Winnie or Sarah…but in reality, I’m much closer to being a Mary.

4. Wednesday Addams

I used to love watching “The Addams Family” as a kid. In the summer, the old black and white TV show came on at 2 p.m. on our local UPN station. I always enjoyed seeing what kind of trouble they were going to stir up and was thrilled when the new movies came out in the early 90s. (I requested to rent them from Blockbuster a LOT.)

One of these years, I’m going to do a Wednesday Addams costume finally. She is my spirit animal.

5. Mermaid

And now to go in the totally opposite direction from Wednesday…here’s a gorgeous costume I’d love to pull off. If only I were more skilled at doing makeup like this. (Read: if only I had the patience to do it…)

6. Smarty Pants

I love a good pun costume, and when I happened across this smarty pants costume…I couldn’t stop chuckling to myself. Great for a last-minute idea as well.

7. Jellyfish

Several years ago at another job, we did Halloween big. One of my coworkers came dressed as a jellyfish, and I thought it was so ridiculously clever! I’ve wanted to do this costume ever since because it’s so simple and creative.

8. Eleven from “Stranger Things”

This would be an easy costume-in-my-closet! Pink dress, tube socks, jacket and you’re done. Well, and maybe a box of Eggos.

9. Kitty

Animal costumes created using just makeup always wow me. I especially love how this costume uses fake eyelashes to add more drama to the eyes.

10. Pumpkin Pie

Another punny costume that I adore.

11. Pineapple

Last year my friend Megan showed up at my party in this costume, and it was such a hit! You could also get a group together, make everyone a different fruit and go as…fruit salad!

12. Electric Mermaid

One more mermaid look that is to die for!

13. Mother of Dragons from “Game of Thrones”

Another clever “Game of Thrones” costume that is perfect if you have kiddos.

14. Luna Lovegood from “Harry Potter”

Since I’ve done Rita Skeeter already, it only seems natural to do my other favorite Harry Potter character.

15. Pop Art

These always look amazing and would be so much fun to pull off!
