Picture it: it’s Halloween night. This was the year you told yourself you would go all out on a costume and find an amazing party to attend – like those killer Halloween parties you see in the movies.
Or the picture-perfect ones on Pinterest.
Or even the ones you find on Instagram that have their own hashtag.
Instead, you’re spending another year sitting on the couch, watching the same old horror movies on cable and snacking on the candy you’re supposed to be giving out to trick-or-treaters.
Raise your hand if you’ve been there because I know I have! ✋
But what if Halloween didn’t have to be that way?
What if instead of another year at home, you had a killer party to attend?
Not sure where to find one? Well…what if YOU hosted it since you’re obviously THE Halloween lover in your group of friends?
I know, you’re probably thinking, Wow Miranda, that’s a LOT of work! But it doesn’t have to be.
In fact, I have just the thing to simplify the entire process for you! We’ll get to that in just a minute.
First, I want to tell you five reasons you should be hosting one to celebrate your favorite holiday.
5 reasons a Halloween party is the BEST way to celebrate October 31st:
Costume parties are just more FUN!
We all hang out with our friends for the night throughout the year, whether it’s out at a restaurant or bar, a concert or sports game, or just at someone’s home. Who doesn’t want to see all their friends dressed up in costume for a change? (For the record, I always recommend hosting a costume party for this reason!)
I love giving my friends a theme and watching their creativity go wild with their costumes. (I mean seriously – how great are Luis and Mel’s Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz?) They get to show off a different side of their personality – or be someone completely different for the night! (My fave is when my friends even act the part of their costume.) It’s a blast getting to see everyone in costume once a year.
It makes Halloween season last longer
For me, Halloween season starts in June or July when I begin saving ideas for my party. August is reserved for refining my ideas, then I make it all happen in September and October. This usually entails a few DIY projects, including my costume, as well as an excuse to go to every store imaginable for party supplies and decor.
All of this stretches Halloween into 4-5 month experience for me, rather than saving it all for October. I have the BEST time planning my party because it gets me excited for the big day! Couldn’t you use a little more Halloween in your life this year?
It gives you an excuse to own being a crazy Halloween person
You know, the kind with a killer jack-o-lantern kinda grin on your face all season long! I kind of love being everyone’s crazy Halloween friend and because my friends know I’m excited for Halloween…they’re excited too!
All that excitement helps make my annual party, Halloweenie Roast, feel more like an experience each year instead of just another party.
It recaptures the magic of trick-or-treating
Remember how excited you used to get about counting down to October 31, putting on your costume and roaming the neighborhood in search of treats?
Hosting a Halloween party is the only thing that has come close to the excitement I used to feel as a kid. It captures the magic of Halloween…and who doesn’t want to feel that again?
Halloween parties are easy to plan
Seriously. While I love a good theme with mine…Halloween itself can be your theme, and all the other party details, like your food, playlist or even party activities just fall into place.
But I know that doesn’t always happen easily. Sometimes it’s hard to get organized or stay on track with your party plans…and sometimes you just wish you had someone to do it for you.
Good thing you’ve come to the right Halloween lover to help you. I’d like to welcome you to something special, just for Halloween lovers:
